Safety Instructions for Canoga Concrete Mixers

  • DO NOT operate the mixer before reading the Safety & Maintenance section of the Owners/Parts Manual that came with the CANOGA Mixer when purchased. Injury can occur from careless use of the equipment.
  • Keep unauthorized and inexperienced people away from the mixer at all times. Children should never be allowed near the mixer.
  • DO NOT operate this equipment unless all guards and safety devices are attached and in place.
  • Keep this equipment in a safe operating condition at all times.
  • Maintain equipment regularly to keep it in a safe operating condition. ALWAYS STOP THE ENGINE DURING MAINTENANCE. Caution must be exercised while servicing this equipment. Rotating blades and moving parts can cause injury if contacted.
  • Electric motors must be grounded in accordance with the national electrical code local codes, by trained personnel to prevent serious electrical shocks. To service the motor, disconnect the power source from motor and any accessory devices and allow motor to come to a complete stand still.
  • STOP THE ENGINE before adding any fuel or oil.
  • The engine door should always be closed while the mixer is being used. Dust and sand can damage the engine, belts and gears.
  • STOP THE ENGINE when leaving the equipment. Never leave the mixer unattended when it's in operation.
  • Periodically check all bolts and fasteners on the mixer for tightness and condition. The vibrations from the motor, when in operation, could loosen nuts and bolts.
  • Block the wheels of the mixer when it is parked on a slope.
  • Be certain that the safety chain is securely attached before towing the mixer. Be certain that the tow bar bolt and lock nut are secure and in good condition.
  • Some electric motors have a manual reset thermal protector. If the motor overheats, the thermal protector will open the motor circuit. If this occurs, turn the main switch off on the motor and after motor cools sufficiently, push the reset button on the motor. A click indicates it has reset and the motor can now be restarted.
  • All warranties are VOID if any unauthorized modifications are made to this equipment.
